TCU YOUTH Program Alliance (TYPA)
TCU has established a TCU YOUTH Program Alliance, TYPA, as a coalition which meets quarterly to develop a pertinent response to the needs of
youth in greater Tarrant County who are at risk of gangs, violence, child abuse and neglect.
The TCU YOUTH Program Alliance, TYPA, consists of:
- Representatives from each of the TCU YOUTH Program Community Partners
- Representation from the Fort Worth Independent School District
- Representation from the Fort Worth Police Department, Gang Unit
- Representation from Tarrant County Child Protective Services
- Representatives from TCU faculty and staff
- Selected community leaders with an interest in helping at-risk
youth.
Objectives of TYPA:
- Assist with community and partner needs assessment
- Establish priorities for issues facing area youth
- Capacity building & technical assistance
- Establish criteria for adding new community partners organizations
- Establish criteria and assist in selection of BRIDGE Student Interns
- Build community collaborations around youth issues
- Address sustainability of programming
